I was completely inspired by everything Sue Bryce had to offer last week during her workshop. From her fem posing to her timeless look, I wanted to give her studio glamour a try.
If I was going to try this ‘glamour maternity’ I was going to do it right. I don’t know if there’s an interest out there for pregnant woman to be dolled up and have some studio photos taken, so instead Luke and I tried it on myself first. The experience was so much fun. It’s very rare that I get my make up professionally done but I loved Melissa’s soft touch, and her tips on how to keep the look long lasting. Then onto hair, and down to the studio, where I was no longer behind the camera. I did help Luke get set up in the beginning, but then he took on the shoot from there. ‘Put your hand in your hair, ….. but don’t make it look like a claw.’ I know it’s my husband, but I saw the trust clients must develop with the photographer, in order to not feel embarrassed.
After viewing the photos Luke captured, I found a new self-confidence and sexiness about my body even though it’s changing as the weeks of pregnancy go by. Overall, it was an uplifting experience. It was a completely different style than my own, but a beautiful gift my husband has given me.
